Guided Upload Flow for Assembly or Single Collection Uploads

We’ve slightly updated how you upload multi-part models. We now have specific options for Assembly, Collection, or Bulk model uploads.

When uploading multiple files, you will be prompted with two of these three options:

Assembly: Removes all single models and only uploads assemblies and their parts.

Single Collection (also known as a multi-part upload): Uploads a single model with multiple parts.

Bulk: This uploads your files individually and separately from one another. It also provides you with the option to input information about each model independently.

If you are uploading a single file, single assembly, or multiple assemblies with no individual files — you will not be prompted with any of the options above as there is only one way for your models to be uploaded.

When uploading large Assembly or Collection models we have consolidated the upload process down to a single step for setting part name. Our goal is that this speeds up the upload experience.

Reference Files for your Models

The model upload section “Additional files”, now lets you upload documents you may need as reference to your model.

We’ve now added the ability to include documentation files along with your 3D models. This has been a long standing request from our users and we’re excited this is launching. If you have a PDF that includes specific directions on building an assembly or have a custom .gcode file you want to share alongside your model for 3D printing, you can now include it with your model upload. The reference files you download will be downloaded together with your model. We accept the following file types as reference files when uploading your models:

  • .pdf (Adobe PDF)
  • .blend (Blender project file)
  • .gcode (GCODE command file)
  • .txt (Text file)
  • .md (Markdown language file)
  • .f3d (Autodesk Fusion 360 project file)
  • .scad (OpenSCAD language file)
  • .cfg (Configuration and settings file)

If you upload these file types together with your 3D model files, we automatically categorize them as reference files.
